A rare vaseline uranium jar produced by adding uranium oxide to the batch which causes the glass to glow bright green in ultraviolet light.
These were fashionable for a short period in Victorian times but are now hard to find. The original ground glass stopper fits well and removes easily.
The label reads ‘Oleum Pini Pumilionis’ which is an oil of dwarf pine needles, used as an expectorant and as an inhalant in bronchitis because of the refreshing smell. It was also used for rheumatism.
