A nicely turned early apothecary jar made from light well matured fruitwood which has developed a rich dark patina over the years.

The style is characteristic of  late 17th early 18th Eastern European design. The lid fits securely. Remnants of original powdered contents are still present although short of chemical analysis it is impossible to say what this would have been.
