A round edged pewter bedpan or urinal with crowned rose dating to the late 18th Century.

This heavy banjo style urinal with rounded edges and screw cap was typical of the urinals used in hospital. It is in unusually good condition for its age and has retained its round shape with only one or two minor bruises.

The stamp would sometimes have the makers initials on either side of the 5 petal rose and whilst this cannot be made out here the crowned rose was a well respected quality symbol throughout Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries.
