A lovely porcelain transfer ware barber’s bowl which was used for shaving and could also have been used as a bleeding bowl.

There is a cutout for the neck, a recess for soap and a hole through which the shaving brush would be held. The fetching design is a Chinese water setting which is marked as “Canova G&H” on the side of the bowl.
