A striking large brass ear trumpet circa 1850 signed on the central cartouche “F C Rein Inventor 108 Strand”.
The original dark copper-wash finish (which can be seen on the inside of the bell) has been taken down to reveal the brass dome which has remained in very good condition. The original grille is missing and the rests where this would have been secured can be seen on the inside of the dome. The earpiece is ivory and is fixed.
