An antique London dome ear trumpet in brass with a Vulcanite ear piece.
In remarkable condition with an attractive grille constructed from a brass plate with round perforations. Often the yellow brass examples are trumpets whose black paint has become so patchy that the whole trumpet gets sanded down to the base metal for cosmetic reasons. This example however is in its original factory condition and would either have been sold as is, or would have progressed from this unpainted state to the final application of a black coat.
