A rare signed 19th century ear trumpet by Hawksley
This dome shaped trumpet is made from copper or copper plated brass and the black finish largely has worn off. The tube connecting to the ear piece is “s”-shaped the ear piece is made from gutta percha. The grill has a radial sunburst design and is made from tin. The cartouche reads Hawksley 357 Oxford Street London W and has remnants of its original gilt finish.
