A rare German apothecary jar labelled Pulv HB Digit with a design consistent with the mid to late 18th century.
It holds an envelope which contains an off white powder which is a later addition. It is labelled in Latin which is not easily identifiable “Pulv Dentrific 1/2 part ex 3ij lign-fast and 3i Chin” with further unidentified markings. The first part of which probably refers to a tooth powder.
