A 19th century  tourniquet signed by Charriere.

Both skilled craftsmanship and the finest materials went into making this example which is of the highest quality. It has been used and there is a tiny blood stain on the brass of the upper pad. Perhaps at a future time, if such tests are more readily available this would make an interesting analysis.
