A lancet case with four ivory shielded lancets. It is most unusual to find ivory lancets and this is also the first example I have seen of a Mauchline ware lancet case.

It has been beautifully and painstakingly carved and has a lovely mellow patina. There are no makers marks on the case or the lancets. Dates to the early 19th Century and remains in excellent condition.
