A perforating device named after Franz Karl Naegele (1778-1851) which prior to the caesarian section was a lifesaving procedure for a mother in obstructed labour.

It is similar in function to the Simpson’s perforator but with a “snapcatch” handle lock which ensured that the pointed ends stayed firmly together while entering the skull.
