A perforating device named after the German obstetrician Naegele which prior to the caesarian section was a lifesaving procedure for a mother in obstructed labour.
It is similar in function to the Simpson’s perforator but with a “snapcatch” handle lock which ensured that the pointed ends stayed firmly together while entering the skull. Marked with the makers name “Cizek & Hajsl” who were based in Prague.
