A superb silver gilt medicine spoon hallmarked to Paris in the late 18th century
The spoon shows Parisian hallmarks for 800/100 silver and dates to 1792, the time of the French revolution. The spoon handle is made from a delightful spiral of Vermeil. Such beauty in the face of the French food riots and the storming of the Tuileries. A sip of anodyne medicine for the aristocratic perhaps?
