Paxtons improved ophthalmoscope was a variation of the Loring type. This one circa 1895 come with a detachable ivory handle.
Both mirrors and all 15 internal and 4 external lenses are present and intact. The scope is marked “Medical Supply association for Curry and Paxton”. The purple velvet lined leather case is also marked Curry and Paxton. There is 50 x 50 mm indirect lens present.
