A Gibson Spoon made of Pewter. A similar spoon is pictured on page 250 of Elisabeth Bennion’s “Antique Medical Instruments”.

An ingenious device which allowed the amount of fluid being administered to the patient to be controlled by partially occluding the lumen at the end of the spoon.
