A French mid 19th century pewter pap bowl.
Frequently made from china or porcelain it is unusual to find these in pewter. They were used to feed various mixtures of gruel, milk honey and bread, or broth to ailing patients. The bowl with spout and handle is of quite crude construction and design and would probably have served in a rustic setting. It is heavy in the hand at over 600 grams.
