A pair of celluloid faux tortoise shell auricles by F C Rein dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The celluloid is thick and has jointed seams and the earpieces are extensions of the celluloid.

The auricles are secured over the head by an adjustable metal headband connecting the two. Each piece is signed inside the bell of the auricle “FC Rein patentees”.
