An antique conversation tube in chased silver plate and horn with a silk wound connecting tube made by F C Rein and Son.

The mouthpiece is silver plated brass which has been etched with an ornate floral design. The connecting tube is made from coiled steel bound with woven silk. The ear piece is from horn. The perimeter of the trumpet is engraved ‘F. C. Rein & Son Patentees, sole inventors and only makers, 108 Strand London’.
