A rare example of a small virginal speculum of the Ricord type marked “Charriere”.

This modified bi-valve vaginal speculum with crosshatched ebony handles is in very good condition. A retaining screw with graduated markings limits the expansion of the blades. This speculum dates to circa 1860.
