A rare unmarked silver nasal speculum of Simon-Emmanuel Duplay’s design in its leather velvet lined case.
Duplay (1836-1924) was a French surgeon and member of the Académie de Médecine (1879). The speculum is small and may have been for paediatric use. It is in perfect working condition with the screw extending the blades so that the physician could visualise the nares. The speculum is marked Brevete SGDG (a French patent mark of quality).
