A square brass scarificator with 16 rounded blades. This instrument is likely to be of Viennese origin and dates to the early 19th century.
There is an adjusting screw to alter the depth of cut. The mechanism cocks halfway and is in excellent working order. There is an unknown makers mark on the side with “Garantirt” in a semicircle around a stamp or seal between the letters “P” and “H”.
