A late 19th century monaural stethoscope, percussion and pleximeter set by Otto Moecke

The set comes in a silk and velvet lined fitted leather case containing an ebonised two piece Stoke’s monaural stethoscope, a step shaped Seitz pleximeter and a percussor. The percussor and pleximeter both signed O. Moeke, the former made from ivorine which has yellowed more than the composite handle of the percussor, but both unquestionably original to the set.

Otto Moecke was in business in Leipzig with a directory of surgical instruments, bandages, orthopedic equipment, artificial limbs and apparatus for nursing in 1888.
