A late 18th century French sharkskin lancet case with studded decorations.

The inner section is lined with green paper and the lids with decorated motifs. Inside are 6 translucent horn lancets. These tools of the trade would be de rigueur for a physician doing house calls to his patients at a time when blood letting was common practice.
