A late 19th century antique amputation set by Ferris and Co of Bristol housed in a mahogany fitted velvet lined box. The brass cartouche reads “Dr Brown Blaydon”
The set contains a bone saw, Liston knives and a metatarsal saw all with crosshatched ebony handles. The Liston knives signed Ferris & Co Briston. There is a pair of bone forceps, a retractor and scalpels with ebony handles and a petit tourniquet with its original strap and pad. Previously Ferris, Bourne and Townsend they became Ferris & Co in 1893.
